Vishala located at Ahmedabad- Mumbai national highway near Vasna,  is one of the most popular evening outings for visitors to Ahmedabad both domestic and foreign, extremely popular with the elite in the city for the occasional dinner.

Gift a dinner to your friends, relatives, parents, brothers, sisters, family or just anyone. Gift a treat  in great village environment, full of greenery and more importantly the delicious food served with  the gujarati insistence, to take an extra helping.

The meals are served in an attractively landscaped section of the complex. You can sit cross legged on the floor or on low stools known as "bajots". the platform in front of you, on which the food is placed, is called a "patla", and you can either get a private patla for two or dine with others on the common platform. A turbaned, dhoti-kurta-clad waiter brings you a glass of jal jeera, locally called "hajmahajam" and popular appetiser. Next, a large leaf platter, locally called "patra", which the waiters fill up with great speed and dexterity. Papad, khandavi, and spoonfuls of aloo shaak (potato curry), baigan bhartha, guaar a delicious-looking rajma curry (which could also be replaced by Gujarati beans called "vaal" , or kabuli channa cooked in the local style), these dishes are locally known as kathore.

Small, cute-looking terracotta bowls of the kind made on the potter's wheel nearby, contain fresh country butter, lili chuteny ( coriander chutney ), lasan chuteny ( garlic chuteny ), goodh ( jaggery ), chillies, tomatoes, then bring a bread 'basket' full of puris, chapattis, wholseome bajra rotla ( rotis made of millet, generally eaten in rural areas of Gujarat ). Being coarser than the normal rotis, they are spread with white country butter or lasan chutney... and washed down with a glass of chaas ( skimmed lassi ).

The last course is khichdi with ghee to taste and kadhi ( a Gujarati dahi curry ) served gently steaming in a choice of apple or ber, as they're in season.

You will find the food excellent, and the hospitality overwhelming. Almost every minute, someone come's up with a fresh supply of vegetable, kadi or rotlas. Gujarati folk musicians playing in the background, professional folk dancers invited from different parts of country , Yoga demonstrations, conjuring tricks, snake charmers and other ethnic artistes contribute richly to the meal.
